Mission Statement
The American Association of Veterinary Immunologists (AAVI) is dedicated
to the development, promotion, and dissemination of knowledge in veterinary
immunology. This includes immunology of livestock and poultry, companion
animals, fish and marine mammals. The AAVI was formed in 1979 by a
group of veterinary immunologists assembled at the annual Conference
of Research Workers in Animal Diseases (CRWAD). The AAVI is open to
all veterinary immunologists internationally The AAVI holds an annual
business and scientific meeting in conjunction with CRWAD each year
as well as an annual symposium in conjunction with the American Association
of Immunologists (AAI). The AAVI website outlines
many of its activities.
Our 2013 newsletter just posted. See it here or go to our newsletter link to get access to previous newsletters as well.
Our AAVI/AAI-VIC Joint Symposium symposium at the annual AAI meeting is next week. We hope many of you are able to make it to beautiful Hawaii.
It was an excellent group of talks last year at the AAVI/AAI-VIC Joint Symposium at Immunology 2012 May 7, 2012. The American Association of Immunologists (AAI) has been a strong supporter of AAVI and has provided financial support for the distinguished Veterinary Immunologist Award and the AAVI/AAI graduate student awards at the Conference for Research Workers in Animal Disease (CRWAD) Meeting. We appreciate their contributions and continued collaboration. AAVI members are encouraged to consider membership to our fellow organization, AAI.

For more information about the AAVI, please download the Spring 2013 Newsletter or contact the AAVI Secretary, Matt Sylte.
